He couldn't stop slow grin over his face if he wanted to, there was no one else here to witness it, and she deserved to see how much it meant to him. There was still a part of him, however, that wished to tell her she didn't need to do silly things to please him... but that was presently overridden by how very much he found himself appreciating this particular silly thing. Even her voice was that purr he only heard in certain lighting.
Setting his bag on the table by the door, and shrugging off his jacket, he can't take his eyes off her.
"I'm sorry to have kept you waiting," he apologizes, resisting the urge to clear his throat, to lose the game so quickly, and strides for the couch, sitting down just at her feet. He wraps his hand around her ankle gently for a moment, then releases, slides his open palm up her calf before he cups her knee, then slides his hand back down.
"No toys to play with?" he can't help but ask, his grin somewhere between rakish and delighted, never mocking.
